Craig Conover detailed the Adderall addiction he went through while filming the hit series "Southern Charm."

"Southern Charm" once became one of the most talked-about series on TV. In fact, its ratings continue to be at their peak even after Cameran Eubanks' exit.

Amid its success, Conover reportedly dealt with Adderall addiction issues since he relied on it to be able to film the series.

In his newly released book titled "Pillow Talk: What's Wrong With My Sewing?" the 33-year-old revealed that he began taking the drug in the early seasons of the show in 2014. But due to the pressures and stress of work he was feeling, he began to rely on it even more.

"In those early seasons, I often blamed my internal demons on the outside pressures I was facing," he said. "The need to finish my work caused me to take Adderall. The anxiety of needing to 'be on' when I went out to the bars caused me to take more Adderall. And so on."

Conover also went through excessive partying to alleviate his stress. However, by the end of its Season 3, he reportedly became "hopelessly hooked" on Adderall that he began taking 15mg pills a day.

Before Season 5, his breakup with Naomie Olindo caused him to take more of the pill than ever "to numb" his sadness.

Craig Conover Was Depressed

In an exclusive interview with Page Six after the release of his book, he revealed that he did not realize he was already depressed at that time.

"I'd take Adderall as like a quick, happy pill, but I just didn't know that I was adding to my depression," he said.

His book detailed that the trip to the Bahamas during "Southern Charm" Season 5 and 6 helped him realize he had a problem. Conover recalled the time he and his friend were in the middle of the ocean to spearfish. He was reportedly instructed to alert his friend once he saw a shark.

When one appeared, he dove in to warn his friend but could not hold his breath underwater due to the Adderall he had taken earlier that morning.

Fortunately, he was still able to inform his friend about it. The incident led him to quit taking the film but used it again when Season 6 started.

After the series' filming wrapped, he decided to quit taking it for good and start his sewing company instead.
