Caitlyn Jenner successfully underwent a transition after coming out, but the process reportedly affected her family in several ways.

It has been years since Caitlyn came out as transgender. Although she is no longer with Kris, she still acts as the family's patriarch and supports her children - Kendall and Kylie - in everything they do.

Now, her ex-wife Kris spoke up about her transition and how the family reacted to it.

On Wednesday, the momager opened up during her conversation with Robin Roberts and answered where she currently stands with the former Olympian after breaking their 22 years of marriage.

According to Kris, she and Caitlyn remain friends and that she sees her at a family thing.

The "Keeping Up With the Kardashians" star recalled her ex-husband's transition and the whole family's reaction to it.

"I think it was a big shock. It's a scary thing to go through because you know nothing about it. It's a subject I never thought that I would ever have to directly deal with [or] confront [or] be understanding about. Something that I didn't you know, understand," she said.

While the family accepted the transition, the whole family faced estrangement when Caitlyn published her 2017 memoir, "The Secrets of My Life." The book, unfortunately, created a rift in the family.

Kardashian-Jenner's Reaction to Caitlyn Jenner's Book

The family once publicly shared their rage after Caitlyn dropped her memoir.

In an episode of "KUWTK," they accused the patriarch of doing negative ways to tell his story.

"She has her thoughts and you have your thoughts and that's fine, but I do feel like there's a way to tell your side of the story without being so negative," Kim said. "Like, everything is always your fault."

They also began expressing their dismay after Caitlyn accused Kris of hoarding money for years.

Fortunately, the family drama came to an end, and the members already have better relationships compared to the time when the memoir came out. For Caitlyn's part, she has been open about her transition and life story.

Caitlyn once shared with BBC's "Don't Tell Me the Score Podcast"  how she trained for 12 years before bagging the gold medal for the Olympics Men's Decathlon event in 1976. She finally got the courage to reveal who she is 65 years later.

At that time, she revealed that she struggled more after she was diagnosed with dyslexia and gender dysphoria, and it affected not only her sporting career but her whole life.
