Taylor Swift fans are HUNGRY for a new album release, and Swifties believe the Met Gala may be the key.

Taylor Swift is a wizard. Just yesterday her EIGHT YEAR OLD SONG "Blank Space" reached its all time global streaming high. Between new content and the adored "Taylor's Version" albums, the songwriter has been dropping fire faster than anvils drop in children's cartoons.

Fans have been waiting on the edge of their seats for the next album, Swift playfully teasing them with clever ciphers, codes, and clues, as no announcement has yet been made.

The ever-calculating Swifites, however, have come together across the world and made a well-founded hypothesis. It all relies on the Met Gala.

TikTok is resolutely convinced that, if the star attends this year's Met Gala on Monday May 2nd, her outfit will give away the release of her new album - specifically, which album she will be re-releasing, because fans have been arguing over the subject ever since Red (Taylor's Version) debuted in the fall.

First and foremost, the star has not attended the event since the year 2016 - but fans think her new, incredibly close friendship with mega-talent Blake Lively will be enough of a reason to show up.

Now, when it comes to a potential new album nod, a fashion-based hint would not be a first for the star. At the 2019 iHeartRadio Music Awards, she appeared wearing butterfly heels to wink at the release of her album Lover. She rocked red lipstick and her iconic bangs look to announce the drop of Red (Taylor's Version). I

f the star appears at the event (thank you Blake Lively for making that a more viable reality), the next question then becomes: What album is next?

The top choice and prediction of the internet currently is Speak Now (Taylor's Version). The iconic album is now one of only three that are still left to be re-recorded. The original album was also produced earlier than the other two, 1989 and Reputation.

That being said, her other re-releases have not stuck to a strict chronological order.

Based on the color scheme of thespecific Taylor-era surrounding Speak NowSwifties have their eyes peeled for even the tiniest splash of purple in the star's Met Gala wardrobe.

While Speak Now (Taylor's Version) is the favorite to be next, we would like to introduce a less likely counter-theory that it COULD be 1989 - especially considering the suspicious (though AMAZING) skyrocketing of "Blank Space" yesterday.

Could this somehow be related? We will just have to wait for Monday to see. Will Taylor wear purple, something vaguely 80s-themed, or simply not show up at all?
