Robert Downey Jr. will appear on TV screens again following his record-breaking stint in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

For nearly two years, fans have not been able to see RDJ again since the premiere of his latest non-MCU film, "Dolittle." But the demand to cast him in several movies and series spiked again since last year.

This time, The Hollywood Reporter revealed that the actor would lead the unscripted Discovery+ series where he would show his passion for classic cars.

The flick, with the working title "Downey's Dream Cars," will feature the "Avengers: Endgame" actor alongside a team of experts as they try to restore classic cars' beauty and make them more eco-friendly for the users.

"My goal is to showcase that it's possible to keep the integrity of classic cars while leveraging new tech and innovation to make them more eco-friendly. I'm thrilled audiences will get to see this series on Discovery+ later this year," he said, as quoted by Digital Spy.

The actor's Team Downey and Boat Rocker's Matador Content are set to work together to produce the series which they scheduled to drop on Discovery+ by the end of this year.

RDJ founded his entertainment company, "Team Downey," which has since worked on the actor's previous projects like "Dolittle," "Sweet Tooth," and "Perry Mason."

The Chief Brand Officer of Discover, Nancy Daniels, expressed the company's excitement to work with RDJ and show the actor making eco-friendly cars.

Robert Downey Jr. Is More In Demand

Even outside the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Robert Downey Jr. has been receiving offers to lead a series or film.

After his appearance in "Dolittle," he accepted the offer to be part of the Jamie Foxx-directed sports comedy-drama film, All-Star Weekend.

In addition, Screen Rant reported that the actor would reprise his role in the long-awaited "Sherlock Holmes 3." However, director Dexter Fletcher said that they put the production on hold and have not released an update ever since.

New reports, meanwhile, said that RDJ has been developing two more "Sherlock Holmes" spinoff series for HBO Max.

Last year, he has also been tapped to co-star in the HBO's adaptation of Viet Thanh Nguyen's "The Sympathizer." Other offers include "Oppenheimer" and "Play Dirty."

These would serve as his latest non-MCU films following his character's death in "Avengers: Endgame."
