Who You Gonna...Animate? Animated 'Ghostbusters' Series Announced At Netflix's Geeked Week!
Who you gonna call? A Ghostbusters series is officially in the works at Netflix.
Netflix: seen a teaser
Netflix: video-game based series
Now, we have more news to geek out about. On Wednesday, the third day of Geeked Week, it was announced that an animated series of Ghostbusters is currently in the works at Netflix.
This is not the first time that there has been an animated series based on the iconic cult classic. In 1986, a series titled The Real Ghostbusters came out, and it quickly became a well-beloved (and undeniably twisted) children's cartoon.
As time has gone on, we have seen every iteration of Ghostbusters. Multiple new live action movies have come out. Now it seems the streaming giant is helping to facilitate a return of the squad to the realm of animation.
The Ghostbusters universe is seemingly ever-expanding. It all began back in 1984, with the original film, bearing the original title. This instant obsession, starring Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, and Harold Ramis has grown into a franchise of epic proportions.
There are now five films and, as we previously stated, one animated series all stemming from this original work. Soon, there will be a second series to expand this universe even further.
Plot details for the upcoming series are not yet known. We will keep you up to date with any more info regarding who you should call if you suspect paranormal activity.
