Director Kevin Smith was more than elated to announce a third season of his Masters of The Universe reboot is in the works over at Netflix. The announcement was made during Netflix's Geeked Week celebration yesterday.

Taking to Twitter, Smith posted a picture of The Sword of Power with a golden crown balancing on the blade, and a plume of smoke with the image of Skelator's boney visage wafting above. The caption reads:

"After Revelation comes REVOLUTION! I'm ecstatic to be making more @MastersOfficial with @Mattel and @powerhouseanim for @netflix! Big thanks to everyone who streamed our show last summer! You gave us the Power to go back to Grayskull for another epic Eternian adventure!"

The first season played as a story which was not really about He-Man, but rather his female warrior cohort Teela (voiced by Sarah Michelle Gellar) having to deal with the aftermath of the muscled hero's disappearance at the hands of his nemesis Skelator (Mark Hamill). This was storyline which many fans of the 80s original came to blows on social media about, given the show barely had any of the series' main character in it. However, even with the controversial female-lead narrative, the show was embraced by a new generation who might not have had as deep a connection with the story.

In this age of nostalgia-fueled remakes and reboots, it was inevitable that they would further the adventures of the citizens of Eternia - and there's more to Eternia than just He-Man.

Will we get a bit more of the guy we came to the party with this time around? We'll just have to wait and see, when Masters of the Universe: Revolution hits Netflix.
