Animator Genndy Tartakovsky has been given the keys to the cartoon kingdom after inking an overall deal with Cartoon Network and Warner Bros. Animation.

For those who may not know Tartakovsky's name, you more than likely know his work. He is the creator of some of the most popular cartoon properties in the past 20 years. Starting with the wildly popular Dexter's Lab, the sci-fi fantasy show Samurai Jack, and a series of Star Wars: The Clone Wars shorts. His work has grown well past his time on Cartoon Network, branching off to direct the animated feature film Hotel Transylvania. He was even awarded an Emmy for his show Genndy Tartakovsky's Primal, an animated adult series about a Neandertal and his dinosaur companion trying to survive a brutal wilderness at the start of early man's development.

Under this new deal, Tartakovsky will be allowed to create, produce, and workshop ideas with both companies, giving him carte blanche to work as he sees fit regardless of the genre. Genndy had this to say about the newfound creative freedom,

"My time at Cartoon Network Studios, since its inception, has been the most creatively formative and fulfilling years of my career. I now find myself continuing that amazing relationship as well as bringing in Warner Bros. Animation - the home to everything that inspired me to become an animator in the first place."

Ever the innovator, Tartakovsky's work has spanned genres, age groups, and styles, always bringing a fresh perspective to the world of animation. And this new deal will help to continue showcasing his brilliance for years to come.
