The world of social media influencers and the price of fame gets the dramedy treatment in the new teaser for the new film Not Okay, from actress/writer/director Quinn Shepard, premiering on Hulu in July.

The film stars Zoey Deutch (The Politician) as Danni Sanders, a struggling writer who gets caught in a web of lies when she tells the world that she survived a string of terroritst attacks in Paris and becomes a hero on social media - only to have her world unravel when the faked post comes to light.

The film also stars Mia Bowen as a school shooting survivor who befriends Danni and Dylan O'Brien (Teen Wolf The Series), who plays Danni's unsuspecting love interest.

This will be the second time Deutch and O'Brien have appeared on screen together since their co-starring in The Outfit from earlier this year.

Produced by Searchlight Pictures and premiering on Hulu, the trailer is a dark comedic look at how the internet can build you up and bring you down in no time flat. From the teaser, the film seems to play with its more dour tones in a lighthearted way, while keeping in mind the severity of Danni's misdeeds as her life begins to crumble before her eyes as the entire world begins to target her actions.

This is the second feature film to be directed by Quinn Shepard, who made her full-length debut with Blame back in 2017.

Not Okay is scheduled to drop on Hulu on July 29.
