Jason Schwartzman has just joined cast of The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes.

The Hunger Games movies, which were based on the novels by Suzanne Collins, were an absolute phenom of the twenty-teens. From devouring the books to waiting anxiously for the next Jennifer Lawrence film to hit the big screen, The Hunger Games were an unquestionably obsessed over franchise. It can be dangerous when taking something so well loved to try to continue the story. However, based on the cast of The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes, this prequel might just make proper tribute to the girl on fire we all know and love.

It has just been announced that Jason Schwartzman will be joining this already star-studded cast. He will be playing Lucretius "Lucky" Flickman. As The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes is a prequel, this Flickman is earlier on in the same linage as Ceasar Flickman. Powerhouse actors already on the line-up include Rachel Zegler, Tom Blyth, Hunter Schafer, and Josh Andres Rivera.

We are so interested to see what adventures this new cast of characters embarks on within this realm. According to the official description, The Hunger Games: The Balla of Songbirds and Snakes will show:

"Years before he would become the tyrannical President of Panem, 18-year-old Coriolanus Snow is the last hope for his fading lineage, a once-proud family that has fallen from grace in a post-war Capitol. With the 10th annual Hunger Games fast approaching, the young Snow is alarmed when he is assigned to mentor Lucy Gray Baird, the girl tribute from impoverished District 12.

"But, after Lucy Gray commands all of Panem's attention by defiantly singing during the reaping ceremony, Snow thinks he might be able to turn the odds in their favor. Uniting their instincts for showmanship and newfound political savvy, Snow and Lucy's race against time to survive will ultimately reveal who is a songbird and a snake."
