Actor Joel McHale, known for his sarcastically biting wit - which served him well on E!'s reality recap show The Soup - recently talked about another popular show on his resume, Community, when he was interviewed by Comicbook.com.

Specifically, he discussed the idea of there ever being a movie based on the six season run on the series.

The show revolved around an oddball group of students attending a community college where wacky antics took second place to studying.

Originally, the idea of dragging out the show any further seemed like a no-go, especially after the disastrous sixth season that aired on Yahoo! Screen, a now-defunct streaming service. But after the resurgence of the show due to COVID viewers looking for something to watch while they were locked away in their homes, McHale might have changed his tune.

He said in the interview,

"I'm setting aside all the money to make [the movie] happen. Before when I'd answer the question, I'd be like, 'Maybe, I have no idea.' But now, with its success on the streamers during the pandemic, the interest has returned. I would say it's more likely than it was before, definitely, but it's like building an aircraft carrier.

"You go, 'We're gonna do this, right? Yeah, okay, everybody's here, we got the money.' Now, this thing has to actually get built. There's a lot more than just 'Hey, let's make a movie now, great.' It's a lot of moving parts. So I'm more positive than I was, definitely, but we'll see.

"That's a terrible answer, but definitely better than my answer two years ago."

The idea for a film actually stems from a joke on the show where Abed (Danny Pudi), the film/television obsessed college student who wanted more from a show he was watching, demanded, "Six seasons and a movie."

Whether we get the same from Community is still to be determined.
