Chris Evans set the record straight about his future as Captain America.

The highest-grossing franchise as of press time, the Marvel Cinematic Universe, continues to reign in the movie industry for decades since "Iron Man" arrival.

Currently, MCU is already at Phase 4, and it has already seen the deaths of two original Avengers members: Tony Stark/Iron Man and Natasha Romanoff/Black Widow. Hulk, Thor, and Hawkeye are the remaining Avengers, and as of Evans' Steve Rogers/Captain America, he gave up his notable shield to the new Captain America, Sam Wilson.

After The Hollywood Reporter revealed that Julius Onah would helm "Captain America 4," Evans clarified that he would no longer return to wear the costume again by responding to the article's line "It is unclear whether Chris Evans would reprise his role of Steve Rogers, AKA the first Captain America."

In a tweet, the 41-year-old proclaimed, "Sam Wilson is Captain America."

Sam Wilson, played by Anthony Mackie, famously led "The Falcon and the Winter Soldier" and played the titular role after serving as the first Captain's sidekick Falcon.

As Mackie officially got Evans' role, it is worth noting that he previously told PEOPLE why he loves playing his role.

"When we first meet him, he's a counselor for soldiers. Then he's picked up by Captain America to be an Avenger. And it's just like, he's on this whirlwind adventure. And the adventure just grows more and more. The discovery of it is something I really enjoy," Mackie said.

Goodbye, Original Captain America

Even Marvel Big Boss Kevin Feige once dismissed the idea of Evans playing the role again.

In an interview with EW, he said that MCU fans would not see Evans as Captain America anymore.

"I rarely answer no to anything anymore because things are always surprising me with what happens, but that rumor, I think, was dispelled rather quickly by the man himself," he said.

In addition, the final episode of "The Falcon and the Winter Soldier" hinted that Sam Wilson would continue Rogers' legacy from that moment forward.

Although Steve Rogers is still alive, unlike Tony Stark and Natasha Romanoff, he reportedly jumped to 1948 to meet agent Peggy Carter again after putting all the stones back in "Avengers: Endgame."

Making Mackie as the current Captain America is the best choice for MCU, as well, as the series director Kari Skogland referred to his character as the best Black Captain America.
