It was announced recently that actor Daniel Kaluuya will not be reprising his role in the highly anticipated MCU sequel Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.

The news was first reported by Rotten Tomatoes' Jacqueline Coley on Twitter after talking to Kaluuya about his upcoming film Nope by writer director Jordan Peele. The reason for the departure was due to scheduling conflicts between the two movies.

In the first Black Panther, Kaluuya played T'Challa's (the late Chadwick Boseman) best friend W'Kabi, the husband to Okoye, the head of Wakanda's Royal Guard, played by Danai Gurira who rose to stardom playing Michonne on AMC's The Walking Dead.

The sequel to the 2018 blockbuster will be helmed again by co-writer/director Ryan Coogler, though nothing about the film's plot has come to light as of yet. Since Boseman's tragic passing due to colon cancer in August of 2020, all that is known as of yet is that the movie will delve into other aspects of life in Wakanda. The film is also said to pay tribute to Boseman throughout.

Actress Dominique Thorne from If Beale Street Could Talk has joined the cast in the role of Riri Williams aka Iron Heart, a character who takes over the mantle of Iron Man in future MCU projects. Returning actors include Lupita Nyong'o, Martin Freeman, Angela Bassett, Winston Duke, Letitia Wright, and Danai Gurira reprising their roles.

Even with two of the film's original stars not in attendance, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever seems to be shaping up to be something special.

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is expected to hit theaters worldwide on November 11, 2022.
