"Victorious" star Daniella Monet speaks out on her uncomfortable moments on Nickelodeon amidst the network's recent controversy.

Daniella Monet is best known by fans for her role in "Victorious" as Trina Vega, the sister to main protagonist Tori Vega, who is played by Victoria Justice. In a recent interview with Business Insider, the actress shared her true feelings during her time on the show.

Monet described the show "Victorious" as funny and politically correct. Still, there were certain moments that made her feel uncomfortable. "Do I wish certain things, like, didn't have to be so sexualized? Yeah. A hundred percent." She expressed.

The actress recalls a particular scene where her character, Trina, is applying lip gloss while eating a pickle on the couch. An unnamed writer from Nickelodeon told Business Insider that scenes like these were produced from their male-dominated writers' room.

"Monet said that after filming a "Victorious" scene in which she ate a pickle while applying lip gloss, she reached out to the network to express concern that it may be too sexual to air. The network aired it anyway." The writer told Business Insider.

Additionally, Monet also noted that some of the clothes she had to wear on "Victorious" were "not age appropriate", and expressed that she "wouldn't even wear some of that today as an adult."

The former "iCarly" and "Sam & Cat" alum also exposed Nickelodeon for offering her 300,000 dollars worth of hush money to keep quiet about her experiences, which she declined.
