2022 Emmy awards host Kenan Thompson has the crowd laughing at a joke involving Zendaya and THIS actor, leading the "Euphoria" star to cover her face in embarrassment.

Zendaya recently won the "Best Actress in a Drama" category at the 2022 Primetime Emmy Awards show. The 26 year old actress was nominated for her portrayal of Rue on the HBO drama series, "Euphoria". The series also garnered nominations by Sydney Sweeney as "Outstanding Supporting Actress In A Drama Series" and "Outstanding Drama Series".

While hosting the 2022 Emmy Awards, "Saturday Night Live" comedian Kenan Thompson greeted the "Spiderman: Homecoming" star a happy birthday, as she had recently turned 26 on September 1st. On that note, the awards show host took the opportunity to clown a newly-single actor.

"Zendaya just turned 26 last week, happy birthday. Twenty-six is a weird age in Hollywood," Thompson started his joke. "I mean you're young enough to play a high school student, but you're too old to date Leonardo DiCaprio."

The "Euphoria" actress, who is currently dating Marvel star Tom Holland, was caught on camera, covering her face with her hands as the crowd laughed.

The 'Leonardo DiCaprio Girlfriend Age' Joke

Leonardo DiCaprio recently raised headlines on his breakup with Camila Morrone, who, notably, just turned 25 years old. The "Titanic" star has also been the subject of countless memes involving an internet theory that he only dates women under a certain age. Twitter users did the math and went as far as creating an age chart on the "The Wolf of Wall Street" star's dating history.

During the 2022 Oscars, host Amy Schumer cracked a similar joke during her monologue, saying "Leonardo DiCaprio, what can I even say about him? He's done so much to fight climate change and leave behind a cleaner, greener planet for his girlfriends."

Draws Fans' Mixed Reactions

However, Thompson's controversial joke sparked different reactions on social media. While the majority of Twitter shared a laugh at the witty comment, some netizens took to Twitter and pointed out how outdated the joke was, under a video posted of the interaction.

Twitter Error

Despite her embarrassed reaction, actress Zendaya and Leonardo DiCaprio have made no comments on host Kenan's jab during the 2022 Emmys.
