Robert Pattinson was rumored to be dating Riley Keough after his split with Kristen Stewart in mid-May, and it seems the affair was short-lived out of respect for his ex-girlfriend.

An insider told Hollywood Life that the British heartthrob thought it would be best to abstain from a relationship with the model/actress, who is the granddaughter of the late rock and roll icon Elvis Presley. Pattinson was uncomfortable with the idea of dating Keough, because she was once a close friend of his ex-girlfriend. Keough starred alongside Stewart in the Joan Jett biopic The Runways.

"Rob's schedule is very busy and he is in no mood to start another relationship, especially with someone so close to Kristen," the insider told Hollywood Life. "He doesn't want to be 'that guy.' He doesn't want people to think he is stealing a friend in the wake of the relationship with Kristen. He loved Kristen and always will look at her fondly, but he doesn't want to be defined by her, and by dating Riley it would only continue the link to Kristen."

Pattinson may have felt uncomfortable about the rumors that he was dating Keough and Stewart's other friend Katy Perry, because he promised his ex-girlfriend he wouldn't get involved with her associates after their breakup.

"Rob did tell people that he reassured her that he wasn't going to date her friends and make things more awkward between them, because the breakup is and has been awkward enough," the source also shared.

Enstars reported that Pattinson had a brief reunion with Stewart at her home last week.  X17Online published photos on Monday, Aug.5 of Pattinson's white Durango parked outside of her Los Feliz home. According to X17Online's eyewitness, the British actor entered her home and left after a two-hour visit.

It was reportedly their first encounter since the former couple severed ties after a four-year relationship.
