Questions about whether Prince Philip ever cheated on Queen Elizabeth II's resurfaced following Her Majesty's death.

Until their deaths, Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip showed their unmatched love for each other by staying through thick and thin. They got married in November 1947.

Despite their ideal marriage life, their relationship has been bombarded with rumors that the Duke of Edinburgh was not wholly faithful to her.

Royal author Unity Hall recently wrote that Prince Philip liked the company of women that he went through temptation in the past years.

"At cocktail parties ... he makes a beeline for some good-looking girl and won't be interested in talking to anyone else," Hall said, while royal author Noel Botham added (per Radar Online), "Philip never bothered to restrain himself from anyone that caught his fancy."

They met in the 1930s. Although Prince Philip was immediately attracted to Her Majesty at that time, he was reportedly nervous because of the arranged marriage.

It turned out that he was also rumored to be in a romantic relationship with Queen Elizabeth II's cousin, Princess Alexandra of Kent. Still, those claims and talks were never proven.

Who Were Prince Philip's "Other Women"?

In royal biographer Sarah Bradford's book, "Elizabeth II: Her Life in Our Times," she disclosed that Prince Philip had full-blown affairs, but the Queen accepted it because she thought "that is how men are."

Although those affairs were never publicized, another royal author disclosed that the duke had a brief relationship with another woman. Ingrid Seward wrote another book titled "My Husband and I" in 2019, where she disclosed that Prince Philip suffered from criticisms through the years because of his infidelity.

Town & Country Magazine reported that he had been linked to Pat Kirkwood. They continued seeing each other after the royal wedding. In 1948, the public spotted the two in London. During that time, Queen Elizabeth II was already eight months pregnant with Prince Charles.

However, the late singer and dancer denied the allegations. But the buzz persisted even after his death in April 2021 and reemerged after Queen Elizabeth II's death.

Even "The Crown" touched on the subject in one of its episodes, with the series' creator Peter Morgan noting that Prince Philip had an infamous alibi for infidelity, which reads: "How could I? I've had a detective in my company, night and day, since 1947."
