Social media recently urged King Charles III to follow Queen of Denmark's latest actions.

On Wednesday, the Danish royal family declared that Queen Margrethe II had stripped four of her eight grandchildren of their royal titles, including their "His/Her Highnesses."

Her Majesty's decision to refer to Nickolai, 23, Felix, 20, Henrik, 13, and Athena, 10 - the children of her second son Prince Joachim - as "His Excellency Count of Monpezat" or "Her Excellency Countess of Monpezat" beginning January 1, 2023, according to the statement.

However, Queen Margrethe II's four other grandchildren, from her son Crown Prince Frederik, will retain their royal titles.

The statement further said that the decision was made because she wanted to create a framework for her four grandchildren "to a much greater degree, to be able to shape their own existence without being limited by the special considerations and obligations that a formal affiliation with the Royal House as an institution implies."

They asserted that her decision is similar to the other changes the Danish royal family has carried out in the past couple of years but in different ways.

The mother of the four children, Countess of Frederiksborg Alexandra, is said to be "confused by the decision" and "saddened and shocked."

According to People magazine, she believes her children are "ostracized."

"They cannot understand why their identity is baking taken away from them."

Social Media Wants King Charles III To Do The Same

Social media mostly favored the Danish royal family's move and urged King Charles III of the British royal family to do the same.

According to one Twitter user, "Taking titles is not about punishment, it's about given their family a normal life as possible without constraints of being a titled Royal."

This is also about Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's decision to quit being royals.

"Harry said he hated being a Prince & wanted a normal life for his children."

Another Twitter user claimed, "Queen Margrethe just showed King Charles that it could be done even without leaks and dramas. We hope King Charles will follow suit."

Currently, most senior British royal family members are called Princes and Princesses.

Queen Elizabeth II's children are princes and princesses, except for King Charles III, now the new sovereign.

Next in line to the throne is Prince William, known as the Prince of Wales and Duke of Cambridge and Cornwall. His wife Kate is now Princess of Wales and Duchess of Cambridge and Cornwall. Their children are Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis.
