From the original version of Rafael's Room 8 on The Bold and The Beautiful, Room 8 The Series launched a new online series on Thursday.

Room 8 follows two fictional characters, Scarlett Howard and Lance Moore, through their journey of unexpectedly moving into a Los Angeles apartment together and figuring out their life.

"What happens when two attractive young people...unknowingly rent the same apartment, the only one that each could find? They reluctantly decide to move in together, and that's when the sparks fly as opposite worlds collide," the synopsis of the show read.

Scarlett, played by Karla Mosley (known as B&B's Maya Avant), is currently an unemployed financial analyst who graduated from Purdue University. Lance, played by Lawrence Saint-Victor (known as B&B's Carter Walton), is a Brooklyn native who pursues his dream of becoming a comic-book artist.

The two stars, who also act as producers and writers for the show, are joined by Sean Whalen as Randy the Landlord, Deborah S. Craig as Missy and Ross Kidder as Dex.

"When we were hired at B&B, [executive producer] Brad Bell asked us a lot of questions about Wed-Locked- how we created it, how we shot it- and that in a way became the inspiration for Room 8!" Saint-Victor told TV Guide.

Room 8 debuts on Thursday, Aug. 8 on Room8TheSeries.com and is expected to have eight episodes.

"This is the first time a network soap has taken a story arc and turned it into a separate series for the Internet," Mosley stated. "It's a really exciting experiment and we're eager to see how it's received. The most wonderful thing about new media is that it's new. The possibilities are endless!"
