Chris Martin of British rock band Coldplay - who BTS' Jin fondly calls "Chris Martin hyung" - showed his love and support for the latter yet again when the band performed in Tokyo, Japan.

At the concert, Martin spoke for his band and sent love and support for BTS as he introduced "The Astronaut" with a heartwarming message.

"We send love to our brothers in BTS because a lot of them right now are in the army. We love those guys. In honor of BTS, we are going to play a song that we gave to Jin. This is Jin's song, this is called 'The Astronaut,' and we send this with love to everybody in any situation anywhere. This is particularly for Jin and the BTS boys," he said.

BTS fans, called ARMY, found Martin's gesture heartwarming and genuine. Many, especially Jin stans, appreciated him for consistently mentioning Jin and his support for BTS.

"This is Jin's song, this is called 'The Astronaut' ahhhh my heart Coldplay really loves Jinnie ️," tweeted one fan. Another wrote, "[This is] such a sweet gesture. [I] truly love Coldplay and their love for Seokjin and BTS."

"Get yourself a group of friends like Coldplay that are constantly sending you love from wherever place they are. I'm so grateful that my boys have met Coldplay," commented another.

"The relationship between #Coldplay and #BTS is one of the purest in [the] music industry," stated another fan. A fifth user said, "I'm crying. It's just that mutual love, understanding and respect that Coldplay and BTS have for each other. Their friendship bond is truly precious. [They are] artists whose music transcends language and any barrier!"

BTS' Jin - the K-Pop group's eldest member - enlisted as an active duty soldier in South Korea's military on Dec. 13, 2022. Before leaving for the military, he left ARMYs with his solo song, "The Astronaut," which was written with the help of his friends from Coldplay.

When Coldplay held its "Music of the Spheres" concert in Buenos Aires, Argentina, in October 2022, Jin performed "The Astronaut" live with the band.

"About six months ago, one of [BTS'] members called me up, and he said, 'I have to leave the band in December for two years to join the army in South Korea because that's the rules there,'" Martin introduced Jin's song at their concert at the time.

"And he said, 'I need a song that says goodbye to everybody for a little while and tells them that I love them.' ...So I said, 'Okay, we'll do a song together,'" he continued.
