‘Friends’ Stars Courteney Cox, Matt LeBlanc Share Touching Tribute To Matthew Perry
Courteney Cox and Matt LeBlanc, who played the roles of Monica Geller and Joey Tribbiani on "Friends," respectively, took to their personal Instagram accounts to post a final tribute to their Chandler Bing - American-Canadian actor Matthew Perry, who was found dead in his home last Oct. 28 of an apparent drowning.
In a heartwarming tribute Cox posted on Tuesday, accompanied by a clip of one of her favorite scenes with Perry on "Friends," she wrote, "I am so grateful for every moment I had with you Matty, and I miss you every day. When you work with someone as closely as I did with Matthew, there are thousands of moments I wish I could share...He was funny, and he was kind."
She then revealed that because of the audience's reaction to Chandler and Monica's supposedly one-night fling in London, the two characters' love story began.
Monica and Chandler started secretly dating in the sitcom's fifth season, got married in the seventh and adopted twins in the series' 10th and final season.
Cox and Perry last worked together for the 2021 HBO Max special "Friends: The Reunion."
Meanwhile, four hours before Cox shared her tribute, their co-actor Matt LeBlanc posted a touching tribute to his on-screen and off-screen friend.
"Matthew. It is with a heavy heart I say goodbye. The times we had together are honestly among the favorite times of my life. It was an honor to share the stage with you and to call you my friend," LeBlanc captioned his post of some of the screencaps from his and Perry's scenes as Joey and Chandler.
"I will always smile when I think of you, and I'll never forget you. Never. Spread your wings and fly brother, you're finally free. Much love. And I guess you're keeping the 20 bucks you owe me," he added.
LeBlanc played the character of Joey, who was Chandler's roommate and best friend on "Friends." LeBlanc and Perry's friendship in the sitcom translated to off-screen friendship after being co-stars for a decade.

"We are all so utterly devastated by the loss of Matthew. We were more than just castmates. We are a family. There is so much to say, but right now, we're going to take a moment to grieve and process this unfathomable loss. In time, we will say more, as and when we are able," Perry's co-stars on "Friends" wrote in a joint statement.
They added, "For now, our thoughts and our love are with Matty's family, his friends, and everyone who loved him around the world."
