The Paranormal Activity franchise will be serving up an extra helping of found footage nightmares in 2014.

Paramount has announced the release dates of both Paranormal Activity 5 and the series' frightening Latino spin-off.

While the fifth installment hitting theaters on Oct. 24, 2014 - a perfect time to give fans a good Halloween scare - the spin-off will make its debut much earlier. Referred to as a "cousin" of the current Paranormal storyline, Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones will premiere on Jan. 3, according to Deadline.

Originally dubbed the Oxnard Tapes and planned as a separate entity from the Paranormal story, Paramount decided the film would benefit by taking advantage of the already established brand name, reports The Wrap.

"This will be an off-shoot aimed at the groups who have been the biggest supporters of the property - Latinos and folks in Latin America - Mexico, Brazil, and Argentina," a source told Deadline of the new project.

Directed by series writer Christopher Landon, The Marked Ones is rumored to feature the same demon as the previous four films but will focus on terrifying an entirely new family. While Deadline claims that the flick will be filmed partially in Spanish, ScreenCruch believes that it will be entirely in English.

Paranormal Activity 5 is rumored to be directed by series editor Greg Plotkin, according to The Wrap.
