Hayden Panettiere is honoring her late brother.

On the first anniversary of her brother Jansen Panettiere's death at the age of 28, Hayden is commemorating the occasion with a heartfelt tribute.

"Today is the 1 year anniversary of my little brother's passing," she captioned her Monday post, featuring an image of the two siblings petting a dog. "Know that I keep him in my heart, keep his things close." The post has since been deleted.

Among the cherished belongings Hayden, 34, keeps close to her heart on the anniversary of her brother Jansen's passing is his art. Jansen had frequently shared images of his artwork on social media before his death.

"His AMAZING paintings are what I see when I wake up and when I go to sleep," Hayden continued. "Rest in peace my brother. One day we'll meet again."

In the wake of Jansen's death in February 2023, his family provided additional details about the cause. In a statement to E! News, issued in the same month, Hayden, along with her parents Lesley Vogel and Skip Panettiere, said the medical examiner attributed the artist's passing to "cardiomegaly (enlarged heart), coupled with aortic valve complications."

"Jansen's heart could be seen in his eyes, and his charm in his brilliant, engaging smile; his soul in his masterful and revealing paintings, and the joy of life in his dry wit," the statement continued. "His charisma, warmth, compassion for others, and his creative spirit will live forever in our hearts and in the hearts of all whom he encountered."
