Kate Middleton's uncle has signed on to become a contestant on 'Celebrity Big Brother.'

Gary Goldsmith, Kate Middleton's uncle, will share a space with contestants Sharon Osbourne, Marisha Wallace, and others.

In an introductory video, Goldsmith can be seen introducing himself as "uncle to the future Queen of our country, Catherine Middleton, the current Princess of Wales." He praised his niece as "simply perfect" and recalled a friendly encounter with Prince William, who offered him a cup of tea during their first meeting.

He also referenced his reputation as “a bit of a bad boy” in the video.

“It would be lovely to put the record straight, but winding people up is probably my favorite hobby,” he added. “Every part of me is just riddled with mischief and danger.”

Goldsmith described himself as "an absolute nightmare to live with," which is the reason why he's "had four wives," according to him.

The Middletons are reportedly displeased with his decision to participate in 'Celebrity Big Brother.' Goldsmith acknowledged that his big sister Carole "will probably be watching me from behind the sofa, slightly anxious."

The decision to feature the Princess of Wales' uncle, known for his assault conviction in 2017, has drawn criticism from domestic abuse charity Women's Aid. The charity expressed its disapproval, referencing Goldsmith's guilty plea in the assault case involving his fourth wife, Julie-Ann Goldsmith. He reportedly assaulted her during a drunken argument. He was ordered to pay a fine and community order.

"The decision to include a man who has been charged, and pleaded guilty to, assaulting his wife, in the Celebrity Big Brother house demonstrates the lack of awareness that the production team has when it comes to survivors of domestic abuse," a spokeswman for Women's Aid said. "The producers should consider how Gary Goldsmith's appearance will impact women who have survived domestic abuse and how they will feel watching him on TV every night."

'Celebrity Big Brother' premiered on Monday in the UK on ITV1.
