Mark Coleman, a retired UFC icon, is currently in a critical condition fighting for survival per his daughter's Instagram post, following his heroic act of rescuing his parents from a house fire in Ohio on Tuesday.

On Tuesday, Morgan Coleman detailed her father's courageous actions online, explaining how he repeatedly entered the burning house to rescue both of his parents and ensuring their safety. Additionally, he made an attempt to save their dog, Hammer, from the flames. Unfortunately, the dog did not survive.

CNN has made inquiries to the Toledo Police, Fire Department, and Coleman's manager in order to obtain further information regarding the house fire incident and the current status of the former UFC fighter's health.

Kenzie, Coleman's daughter, revealed on her Instagram Stories that their dog played a crucial role in saving Mark's life by persistently barking until he woke up.

Following the arrival of firefighters at the scene, the roof collapsed, reported by TMZ. Mark, 59, was subsequently airlifted to a nearby hospital, a fact confirmed by his daughters and friend, Wes Sims, in separate social media posts.

According to Sims' Facebook post, Mark is "currently intubated and sedated," indicating his current medical condition.

 

Sims informed PEOPLE that he has refrained from disclosing further details until Mark regains consciousness.

"No one can tell a Mark Coleman story like Mark Coleman! Please keep him in your prayers! Thank you!," he wrote.

MMA writer Jonathan Snowden, who mentioned his close collaboration with Coleman in a forthcoming book, shared a photo on X, previously known as Twitter, showing Coleman connected to a ventilator in a hospital.

 

"If anyone can beat back death itself, it's Mark," Snowden stated.

Connie, Coleman's mother,  posted on Facebook, thanking "God we are alive" and asking for "prayers for Mark."
