Brady, 51, who publicly identified as pansexual in August 2023, explained to PEOPLE, "I had to do research and find out what it was that I was." Addressing a common misunderstanding, he remarked, "I think the biggest misconception...is that people think that you're an indecisive bisexual." Brady emphasized the need to clarify, stating, "It's like, no, no, no, no, no. Let me set you straight."

"What the definition basically boils down to is, regardless of gender, regardless," he continued. "So that means that I am happily free to fall in love with anybody here. If you're gay, if you're straight, if you're non-binary, trans, I don't care."

The 'Let's Make a Deal' host explained that pansexuality focuses on "the person," which, in his perspective, represents complete acceptance and love, stating, "so I win."

Following his public revelation last year, Brady characterized his pansexuality to PEOPLE as akin to being "bisexual - with an open mind." During that period, he disclosed that Robin Williams' death in 2014 had a profound impact on him, leading to an unexpected journey of self-exploration.

In addition to undergoing therapy to comprehend his lack of joy in certain life aspects and addressing "love addiction," Brady found himself wondering, "Wayne, um, are you gay?"

"And the answer was no because despite having been in all of these unsuccessful relationships and now dealing with what I know can be diagnosed as love addiction, I started to go, 'Okay, I'm feeling something, but I just don't know how to get there.' "

The Trevor Project defines pansexual as "an attraction to people of any gender or to people regardless of their gender, with the prefix "pan" coming from the Greek prefix for 'all.' "
