Following a purported leak regarding Princess Kate Middleton's cancer diagnosis, Kensington Palace reportedly expedited the release of her announcement video. The Daily Mail's Ephraim Hardcastle column, published on April 1, alleged palace officials felt compelled to swiftly unveil the video upon learning of Kate's condition to preempt further speculation.

The origin of the suspected leak remains undisclosed, whether from The London Clinic, where Kate underwent a January abdominal procedure, or elsewhere.

Kate shared her diagnosis in a social media video on March 22, revealing that doctors discovered her cancer during her earlier abdominal surgery. She disclosed that her medical team recommended a course of preventive chemotherapy, which she has commenced.

Describing the news as a "huge shock" for her family, Kate, 42, emphasized that she and Prince William "have been doing everything we can to process and manage this privately for the sake of our young family."

"We hope that you'll understand that as a family, we now need some time, space, and privacy while I complete my treatment," the princess added. "My work has always brought me a deep sense of joy, and I look forward to being back when I'm able. But for now, I must focus on making a full recovery."

"Whether the leak came from The London Clinic, or from a flunkey who had been loose-lipped, remains unclear," the Ephraim Hardcastle column said. "Whatever the reason, the universal acclaim heaped on Kate confirmed it was the right decision."
