Singer Mandisa, who rose to fame on season 5 of 'American Idol,' has died.

She was 47. 

A cause of death was not disclosed.

Her representative confirmed her passing via a statement to NBC News. "We can confirm that yesterday Mandisa was found in her home deceased. At this time we do not know the cause of death or any further details."

The statement asked "for your prayers for her family and close knit circle of friends during this incredibly difficult time."

On Friday, a post on the singer's Facebook page called Mandisa "a voice of encouragement and truth to people facing life's challenges all around the world. She wrote this song for a dear friend who had passed in 2017."

John Hundley, Mandisa's father, told Fox News Digital that her death was a total shock.

The singer, born Mandisa Lynn Hundley, made it to the top nine in the music competition show in 2006. One year later, she released her first full-length album, 'True Beauty.'

The California native went on to win a Grammy for Best Contemporary Christian Music Album in 2014 for her album 'Overcomer,' becoming the fifth 'American Idol' alumna to win a Gramophone trophy.
