Christina Applegate Wears Diapers After Waking In 'Pool Of S**t' As She Struggles With MS

Christina Applegate recently got candid about contracting sapovirus amid her battle with multiple sclerosis (MS).
In the latest episode of the "MeSsY" podcast with Applegate and Jamie-Lynn Sigler, who are both diagnosed with MS, the "Married... with Children" star revealed that she contracted sapovirus, which made her "[piss] out of my a**" for a few days to a point where she "was so dizzy and so sick."
"It is when you ingest fecal matter of someone else from your food. Someone else's poop went into my mouth, and I ate it," she said of the viral condition.

The immunocompromised 52-year-old actress disclosed that she traced back contracting the virus to a takeout salad from a restaurant she frequented for 15 years.
Sapovirus is a single-stranded RNA virus detected in shellfish and environmental water samples. It can cause acute gastroenteritis in people of all ages, according to the Centre for Health Protection.
Its symptoms include vomiting, diarrhea, nausea, abdominal cramps, chills and headache, among others.
According to Applegate, she once "woke up at 3 a.m. in a pool of s**t" because of the virus.
"Didn't know it happened, and having MS at three o'clock in the morning and trying to change your sheets, it's not fun. But this brings me to my next point, which we can talk about: I'm wearing diapers," she said, explaining that contracting the virus did not go well with her condition.
Taking off from the "poop talk," Applegate and Sigler proceeded to discuss wearing adult diapers and how they weren't made "pretty for women."
"Putting on an adult diaper, you're not gonna feel sexy. You're never gonna slip one on and be like, 'Are you ready for my ...?' It's something you gotta wear because your body is malfunctioning. Your body is not feeling good. You're having an MS flare. Your kid grabbed your bladder on its way out of your vagina," Sigler said.
"Whatever the reason why, you're having to throw on this adult diaper. There's nothing enjoyable about it."

"I think it would be very nice if you could give me an adult diaper that fully supported my mood when I looked at it, which would be something along the lines of the words, 'F**k me,' across my pelvis," she quipped.
"No one wants to f**k you when you're in a diaper," Applegate chimed in.
Applegate and Sigler's condition, MS, "can affect the brain and spinal cord, causing a wide range of potential symptoms," according to the National Health Service.
The main symptoms of MS include fatigue, difficulty walking, vision problems, bladder control problems, numbness or tingling in different parts of the body, muscle stiffness, spasms, and balance and coordination problems, among many others.
It can also lead to incontinence or the inability to control the bladder and bowels, which may require the use of adult diapers.
