The Mentalist may be losing two characters but it looks like they will also be gaining two fresh faces.

As the CBS show heads into its sixth season, long time cast members Owain Yeoman and Amanda Righetti will be leaving their positions as special Agent Wayne Rigsby and Special Agent Grace Van Pelt. However, two new FBI agents will reportedly be introduced as the season progresses, according to TV Line.

The new agents will be called Kim Fischer and Nick Abbott. TV Line claims Fischer is an attractive 30-something former Dallas homicide detective while Abbott is a West Point graduate and Iraq war veteran with a short temper.

Fischer may be the new female lead that series creator Bruno Heller teased a few weeks ago. According to Heller, this character may cause problems when it comes to the budding relationship between Patrick Jane (Simon Baker) and Agent Lisbon (Robin Tunney).

"Up until now, they've been tied by this professional dynamic and this mission they're on," Heller said of the Jane/Lisbon dynamic, according to TV Line. "And that held their personal relationship in suspense. Once the Red John saga is done, how do they find a new way to relate to each other?"

Apparently there will be something Jane will need to walk away from following the capture of Red John. Whatever it is Jane will be leaving - perhaps his work with CBI - the new female lead won't want him to.

The Mentalist returns on Sept. 29.
