The trailer for McCanick, Cory Monteith's last film, has just been released. The clip that clocks in at 1:44 minutes takes us through us through narcotics detective, Eugene "Mack" McCanick's (David Morse)  chase for the rather elusive criminal Simon Weeks (Cory Montieth).

We get to see very few and varied glimpses (a black and white mug-shot of a bloody-nosed Monteith, one wearing scraggly long hair, and him with his regular-styled short hair) of Monteith.

Earlier today, Bleiberg Entertainment also released a new image of Monteith in-character following the announcement that the film was set to release at the Toronto Film Festival in September.

The film's director Josh C. Waller told Entertainment Weekly about Monteith's role, "The character he plays is this drug-addicted street hustler, and he was wanting to tap into things from his youth - which he's been very open about publicly. I think he saw the role as an opportunity for catharsis."

The plot follows the story of McCanick who is onto Simon Weeks (Monteith), a criminal who has recently been released from prison. Waller told the publication that their dynamic triggers "a firestorm of paranoia and violence."

"Unbeknownst to the chief of police (Ciaran Hinds) Mack and his partner, Floyd (Mike Vogel) mercilessly hunt down Weeks for unknown reasons over the course of one long, hot day," he explained. "The closer Mack gets to his prey, the more we understand that his frenzy stems from a truth from the past, which only Weeks can expose."
