Another country singer may be joining the new cast of Dancing With the Stars this fall.

Jo Dee Messina, famous for such songs as Heads Carolina, Tails California and Bye, Bye may be the latest country singer to join the celebrity dancing show. The singer posted a message on her Facebook page about the possibility on Friday.

"I had a meeting with the folks at ABC and Dancing With The Stars." Messina wrote. "I'm hoping to get on there for the fall season. (fingers crossed) The folks out there were so nice. I really enjoyed meeting with them."

The post received over 3,000 likes and received several encouraging comments from her fans. Another country singer, American Idol finalist Kellie Pickler, won season 16 of the show in Spring 2013.

This year's Indianapolis 500 winner Tony Kanaan is also looking to be a part of the dancing show's new season. Rumors that he was interested in joining have been circulating since July, but he recently revealed to The Indianapolis Star that he officially met with the Dancing With the Stars cast coordinator. He said that he would know if he got a slot in the celebrity cast by Friday, Aug. 16.

Kanaan would be the second IndyCar Series racer to participate in the show. The first, Helio Castroneves, won season 5 of Dancing With the Stars in 2010. He also participated in the All-Star season in 2012, but was eliminated in the third week.

Many celebrities have announced that they are not going to be on the new season despite rumors, including troubled celebrity chef Paula Deen and TV personality Geraldo Rivera. Actors John Stamos and Jamie Lee Curtis were rumored to be joining after a journalist tweeted about a "yogurt spokesperson" joining the cast, but it since been revealed to be a joke.

The official cast will be announced Wednesday, Sept. 4 on Good Morning America.

Season 17 of Dancing With the Stars will premiere on Monday, Sept. 16 at 8 p.m. on ABC.
