A man was found dead Monday at the Jupiter, Fla., home of Grease star Olivia Newton-John, police said.

Jupiter Police spokesperson Scott Pascarella told ABC News the cause of death and the 42-year-old man's name will not be released until after the autopsy Tuesday morning, but that he suffered from a gunshot wound. Pascarella said somebody discovered the body at the residence Monday afternoon and that he was a contractor hired by the homeowners.

Newton-John, 64, and her husband John Easterling, 61, were not present at the time of the death and instead are out of town, police said. Officials added that the man is not related to the residents nor does he live in the home. Pascarella said the victim had permission to be inside the home and The Palm Beach Post reported construction was being done on the residence.

Media reports on Monday listed the death as a suicide but Pascarella said it's classified as a death investigation until the autoposy report is completed, New York Daily News reported. He did not specify whether or not foul play was involved.

The Guardian cited reports that said Newton-John is selling the property to comedian Rosie O'Donnell for an estimated $5.6 million.

Tragedy struck the Grease star earlier this year when her sister, Rona Newton-John, died from a brain tumor on May 24.

"My beautiful sister Rona sadly passed on May 24th in Los Angeles. It was May 25th in Australia - which was our mother Irene's birthday" the actress wrote on Facebook following her sister's death. "Rona died of a very aggressive brain tumor and mercifully suffered no pain. She was surrounded by the love of her four children - Fiona, Brett, Tottie and Emerson and, her wonderful friends. I will miss her forever - my beautiful, smart, talented, funny, brave sister Rona."
