'The Real Housewives of New Jersey' Footage Used in Teresa Giudice Fraud Trial? Bravo 'Not Happy,' Source Says

The Bravo network has been brought into The Real Housewives of New Jersey star Teresa Giudice's legal drama.

A source revealed that New Jersey prosecutors have secretly asked the network to submit hours of unaired footage of TRHONJ featuring Giudice. Prosecutors want to see the footage of GIudice and her husband Joe Giudice's shopping habits that were filmed for the reality show. It would provide the proof they need to support the claims the couple lied about their expenses, income and spending habits. 

"For every hour that airs, there are more than 20 hours of unedited footage," an insider told New York Daily News. "They shoot for three months and end up using only the footage that fits into the story line they want to focus on."

Bravo has yet to comment on the Giudices legal troubles, however, the source said behind the scenes the network is "not happy" about everything surrounding the couple's legal troubles.

"The network is not happy," the source said. "Everyone is asking if Housewives ruined Teresa. The real question is, will Teresa ruin Housewives?"

To add to the network's list of disappointment with the troubled couple, the company has yet to see bump in the show's ratings since the 39-count indictment was announced against the Giudices on July 29.

The couple was indicted on July 29 for offenses including falsifying information on their applications for mortgage, the IRS and W-2s, conspiracy to commit bank and wire fraud, and bankruptcy fraud. Joe is not an American citizen and faces deportation if found guilty on his charges, which include using his brother's name to obtain a driver's license.

When the couple appeared in a Newark, N.J. court room on July 30, they were released on $500,000 unsecured bail bonds each after they were read their rights and list of charges. They later plead not guilty when they returned to court on Aug.14.

U. S. District Judge Esther Salas set the couple's trial date for Oct. 8.
