Drake pushed back the release date of his third studio album, Nothing Was The Same. The original release date was set for Sept. 17, however, the record will now hit stores on Sept. 24.

"Hold on we're almost done," his producer Noah Shebib tweeted in regards to the new release date.

But, fans shouldn't be too upset. On Wednesday, the rapper announced that he will perform at the 2013 MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday.

"I'll do this for you right now. But it's for me, too. It's my story... I'm trying to get back to that kid in the basement. To say what he has to say. And I'm trying to make it last."
