Selena Gomez won the award for Best Pop Video for her song Come & Get It at the 2013 MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday. The award was presented to her by the boy band, One Direction.

"This is heavy, oh my goodness!" she said as the award was handed over to her.

"This is my first actual moon man, thank you so much. This has been such a great year for me and I wouldn't have done it without you guys so thank you so much, this is so cool!" she added.

The singer wore a long blue gown to the award show at New York's Barclays Center.

As the camera panned to the audience, it zoomed in on a very ecstatic Taylor Swift, who was cheering the win with her hands up in the air, Swift seemed to be one of Gomez's greatest supporters in the audience. Gomez was seated right next to Swift in the audience.

The 21-year-old was nominated in the category with Bruno Mars' Locked Out Of Heaven, Justin Timberlake's Mirrors, Fun's Carry On and Miley Cyrus' We Can't Stop.

She also expressed her excitement at the win on Twitter:

"This has been 1 of my proudest achievements & I couldn't do it without everyone! So grateful," she wrote along with a photo displaying her song at the top of the charts.

Her album Stars Dance, released on July 23
