Man of Steel 2 will feature Ben Affleck's Batman as a sometime tiresome hero.

Warner Bros. CEO Kevin Tsujihara told investors Thursday that Batman would be "tired and weary and seasoned and been doing it for awhile."

Enstars previously reported that producers had been looking for an actor in his 30's or 40's to play Batman in the 2015 film. The casting of Affleck, 41, gives the iconic superhero a look of someone still in their prime but also with a lot of experience.

Tsujihara also addressed the reactions to the Aug. 22 announcement that Affleck will play Batman. Though some critics questioned the casting choice, Tsujihara is confident in Affleck's ability to square off against Superman (Henry Cavill) in Man of Steel 2.

"We think it's the perfect springboard for Batman and Superman," Tsujihara said. "Ben is perfect for the vision [director] Zack [Snyder] has for that character. The fact that you saw such a passionate response in the blogosphere is really kind of a testament to the love that people have for this character."

The CEO added that there would be many announcements about the highly anticipated film coming soon. Man of Steel characters Lois Lane (Amy Adams), Perry White (Laurence Fishburne) and Martha Kent (Diane Lane) will return for the sequel along with Cavill as Superman.
