After numerous reports about Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth's on-again, off-again relationship status, a source close to the couple confirmed to Radar Online that they are officially "on a break."

"They've split for now," the insider said. "Miley and Liam have a very tumultuous relationship and both are exhausted. It's a complicated relationship. The wedding is on hold, for now. It's not cancelled but it doesn't look promising."

Confirmation of the split follows reports that Hemsworth, 23, was "locking lips with a random brunette" at the club Bungalow 8 on Sept. 7, Page Six cited multiple sources as saying. Later, "they left together."

Us Weekly claimed he "fired off a graphic, sexual text message" recently to Mad Men actress January Jones that allegedly read, "I want to f--k you." The two Hunger Games: Catching Fire stars were first romantically linked in February they were spotted "making out" at a pre-Oscar party, eyewitnesses said.

A rep for Hemsworth denied claims of Hemsworth cheating on his fiancee, whom he has been engaged to since the summer of 2012.

Cyrus unfollowed Hemsworth on Twitter earlier in September, Enstars reported. The couple was last seen publicly together on Aug. 8 at the Los Angeles premiere of his movie Paranoia.  Hemsworth did not attend the 2013 Video Music Awards, where Cyrus gave a raunchy performance by grinding on Robin Thicke and twerking on stage, and the couple remained apart for some time as he traveled to support his brother Chris Hemsworth's new film, Rush.

Liam was spotted in London on Aug. 31 leaving a nightclub shortly after Chris and his wife, Elsa Pataky. The family attended the London premiere of Rush on Sept. 2 and then were at Canada's Toronto International Film Festival on Sept. 8 along with the eldest Hemsworth brother, Luke. The trio was also joined by their parents, Leonie and Craig Hemsworth.
