A 16-year-old and a former backup singer for a reggae music legend wowed the coaches on the second night of The Voice season 5 premiere on Tuesday.

Holly Henry's raspy version of Coldplay's The Scientist was so impressive that coach Blake Shelton turned his chair around almost immediately after she began. The other three coaches--Adam Levine, Christina Aguilera and Ceelo Green -- also followed suit  to express interest in the teen.

When she told them her name after she finished, Shelton made the crowd erupt into laughter when he told her, "Holly Henry. Let me just write that down here under Team Blake, alright Holly?"

"Because of you, I am officially excited about season 5 of The Voice," he added.

Another contestant, Tessane Chin convinced also all four judges to turn their chairs thanks to her powerful version of Pink's Try. Before she went on stage, Chin revealed her prior professional experience as a performer was being a backup singer for reggae legend Jimmy Cliff. Host Carson Daly then surprised her with a video message from Cliff, himself.

Cliff wished Chin a lot of luck and told her The Voice was "a great opportunity for America to see you."

While Chin performed, all four coaches turned their chairs around then squabbled over the Jamaican beauty. Levine told her that she "could easily win The Voice this season."

After careful thinking and still in shock from the reaction from all four coaches Chin picked Levine.

Week 2 of The Voice season 5 will air on Sept. 30 at 8 p.m. EST.
