There will be a lot of romance in the air on the upcoming third season of Once Upon a Time according to the latest spoilers.
Series co-creator Edward Kitsis talked to E!Online in a Wednesday report about the show's various couples and what viewers can expect from them going forward.
Despite being in different worlds, Rumple (Robert Carlyle) and Belle (Emilie de Ravin) will still be able to see each other in the first few episodes. Their scenes together are very "sweet," according to the report.
Meanwhile, Emma is under the assumption that Neal (Michael Raymond-James) is dead, so she has no problems with Hook's (Colin O'Donoghue) flirtations. Emma won't be able to deny the chemistry she has with Hook in the first few episodes of the season.
One of the newest couples to be introduced this season is Ariel (JoAnna Garcia) and Prince Eric (Gil McKinney). The couple will be slightly different than their Little Mermaid counterparts from the 1989 Disney animated film, according to Kitsis.
"Our take on Prince Eric is slightly different then what you saw in the movie, but it is hopefully honoring what people adore about that movie." Kitsis said. "Though our Ariel really focuses much more on her and her journey and she also has a connection to one of our characters that you'll see in her story."
Ariel and Eric will first show up in episode 6 of the new season. Despite all of the love connections, there won't be much time to focus on them in the first few episodes as the gang tries to rescue Henry (Jared S. Gilmore) in Neverland.
Season 3 of Once Upon a Time is set to premiere on Sunday, Sept. 29 at 8 p.m. on ABC.
