NBC cancelled two low-performing shows from its fall lineup and brought back Community, E! Online reported.

In the announcement on Friday, Oct. 18, NBC axed two of its new shows, which are the Mike O'Malley project Welcome to the Family and the police drama Ironside. These shows have been cancelled after only airing three episodes.

Ironside stars Blair Underwood in a modern version of the Raymond Burr police drama. According to The Inquisitr, the show had 6.81 million viewers on its premiere episode. By its third episode, the numbers have dropped to only 2 million viewers. It will air its final episode on Wednesday, October 23, and then Dateline will be taking its spot.

However, fans will not have the chance to say goodbye to Welcome to the Family on Thursday, October 24, as its slot has been filled by Parks & Recreation. According to The Inquisitr, the comedy show only 2.99 million viewers on its premiere episode, making it NBC's lowest in-season comedy debut. It had also dropped to 2.42 million viewers by its third episode.

The good news is that NBC's Community will come back for its fifth season on January 2 with back-to-back episodes.
