While Robin Thicke and his long-time wife Paula Patton are going strong, he confessed to Elle magazine that he once had eyes for another woman back in the '90s: Janet Jackson.

The Blurred Lines singer said, "The video for That's the Way Love Goes, my friends and I would watch that and be like, Whoa. And En Vogue! One of the girls looks just like my wife."

Even though his parents split up when he was just seven years old, he used love lessons he learned from his dad, Growing Pains actor Alan Thicke, to win and keep Patton.

"He was always very intuitive. And very smooth. He didn't really tell me what to do. He told me what not to do, which is actually more important... I'm sure when your parents get divorced when you're seven, maybe as a kid I thought, 'I'm going to take care of my wife. I'll be a great husband.' But the real reason is because of the person that I met. We're pretty sure we've loved each other for a few lives."

Thicke spread the love and shared a few secrets on how he likes to wine and dine Patton, who was his high school sweetheart. The two married in June 2005.

"I like to take her out to a fancy, six-course meal that lasts three hours and stare into her eyes. Of course it's a little schmaltzy. There's nothing women love more than effort. You can even mess it up. The shoes that you bought don't have to be right. You might have gotten the wrong chocolates. But she'll know if you made an effort."

The two have a 3-year-old son, Julian, together.
