Days after their elimination on Dancing With the Stars, actor Brant Daugherty and partner Peta Murgatroyd addressed rumors that they were a couple.

Daugherty and Murgatroyd were eliminated from the competition on Monday night's episode of DWTS, coming in seventh overall. The partners spoke with Good Morning America about the dating rumors.

"I think it kind of happens every season with me I've found. Everyone always thinks I'm with my partner," Murgatroyd admitted. Daugherty added that Murgatroyd had informed him to be prepared for the dating rumors at the beginning of the season.

They also agreed that there was nothing to the kiss that was photographed by paparazzi outside the dance studio.

Murgatroyd addressed the rumors again to Wetpaint, saying that they will remain close friends.

"Look, I told Brant at the start of this season that the tabloids will have us sleeping together in two weeks. He expected it and I expected it. But we're just very close friends," she explained. "He's a friend for life. He's not getting away from me."

As for being eliminated from the competition, Daugherty told Good Morning America that there wasn't much more they could have done to stay in.

"It was one of the busiest weeks of my life for sure, but you know, we still scored a 27. I don't know what a couple more points would've done for us. I think the audience decided it was our time to go. It's as simple as that," Daugherty explained.
