It's the moment Mentalist fans have been waiting upwards of five seasons for - the Red John reveal is less than a week away and there are still so many questions to be answered.

Of Patrick Jane's (Simon Baker) last fives suspects, former FBI and CBI Agent Ray Haffner (Reed Diamond), Visualize leader Bret Stiles (Malcolm McDowell), and Sheriff Thomas McAllister (Xander Berkeley) are presumed dead; FBI Agent Reede Smith (Drew Powell) is now in police custody for his participation in the Tyger, Tyger conspiracy, and CBI Director Gale Bertram (Michael Gaston) is on the run and is believed to be the notorious serial killer Jane has been seeking for 10 years.

However, "The Great Red Dragon" scriptwriter Jordan Harper cautions that "there's always another twist" when it comes to The Mentalist. Although Harper claims that people were defiantly killed during the explosion at Jane's house, the lack of bodily proof has some viewers skeptical as to how many deceased there really are.

"I think it's always safe to say there's more to come, but I want to be very clear: That was a foot that you saw," Harper told TV Guide. "It was not, in the world of The Mentalist, a rubber foot. There are dead people in that house, absolutely."

Next week's aptly titled "Red John" episode will also address what happened just before the bomb detonated, according to Harper.

Meanwhile, writer Ken Woodruff states that viewers will also find out why Red John's voice did not sound like any of the current suspects when Jane was previously captured by his nemesis.

"We definitely will deal with that, and I think it's done in a really, really great way that's going to be coming up in [Episode 8]," Woodruff told TV Guide. "We were very aware of that and conscious of it going forward and in dealing with Red John and [his] voice and all that stuff. So it definitely pays off, and faithful viewers will, I think, be satisfied by it."

Find out if Gale Bertram is indeed Red John when The Mentalist airs Sunday, Nov. 24 at 10 p.m. ET on CBS. Click the video below to see a preview for "Red John."
