Priscilla Chan wore a $4,700 gown by American designer Claire Pettibone for her wedding to Facebook founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg, according to a report from US Weekly.

Chan's "Sky Between the Branches" gown featured matte sequins and ivory cut-out embroidery with sheer back, according to the designers website.

The news surprised the designer.

" WOW! This is my gown...I had no idea!!!," Pettibone tweeted Sunday alongside a picture of Chan and Zuckerberg's wedding.

"Top story on People.com, yeah, my day is pretty good so far!!!," the designer tweeted later.

Pettibone is known for creating feminine clothing with fine fabrics and details to combine a vintage feeling with modern style.

"I have a very romantic vision of how fashion can enhance our beauty and indulge our dreams," the designer says on her website.

"Say Yes to the Dress" Randy Fenoli praised the designer by saying “Claire has a cult following.”

Chan also wore a floor-lenght veil and white sandals.

Chan and Zuckerberg married after nine years of dating at his Palo Alto, California home the same day Facebook began trading publicly.

The ceremony was private and fewer than 100 guests attended.

Zuckerberg took media and guests by surprise because people thought he was throwing a party to celebrate Facebook's debut on Wall Street.

The couple met at Harvard University and have a dog together.
