Olivia Pope will learn that her mother is alive in this week's episode of Scandal.

In the promo clip for episode 8, Vermont Is For Lovers, Too, the voiceover says "Olivia Pope thought her mother was dead for 20 years but she was wrong. Now there is only one thing that could change everything," the voiceover states.

During last week's installment, Rowan shows a picture of their crisis management specialist daughter to her mother, who appears very ill with tubes inside of her. 

"Our daughter has been asking for you," he tells her.

In the clip for this week's episode, a flashback of a young Olivia saying goodbye to her mother for the last time is shown.

Olivia's father, Rowan, shows a photo  of their adult daughter to her mother, who is secretly alive but hidden.

 "She's beautiful" Mama Pope says at the sight of Olivia's picture.

The footage also reveals a concerned Mama Pope telling Rowan that see Olivia.

"I want you to make it happen," she demands.

The clip also shows Olivia telling Fitz that a plane went down twenty years prior and one of the bodies was her mother's. 

ABC's synopsis shares more details that viewers can expect in episode 8: "Olivia and the team try to handle both uncovering the truth behind Operation Remington, while also managing a potential crisis with the Josie Marcus campaign.  Meanwhile, Quinn falls further down the rabbit hole with Charlie, and Cyrus creates a plan to take down Sally, but doesn't think of the possible harm he could inflict on himself." 

The new episode of Scandal will premiere on Thursday, Nov. 21 at 10 p.m. EST on ABC.
