'The Mentalist' Season 6 Spoilers: Everything You Need To Know About The Red John Reveal, New PHOTOS And VIDEO
The Mentalist's long-anticipated Red John reveal is less than a day away.
After chasing the elusive serial killer over six seasons, Patrick Jane (Simon Baker) will come face to face with his nemesis in the aptly titled episode, "Red John."
While all signs seemingly point to CBI Director Gale Bertram (Michael Gaston) as Jane and Lisbon's (Robin Tunney) leading suspect, series creator Bruno Heller cautions fans to expect some classic Mentalist twists in the run-up to the unmasking.
"I would say after what happened in the previous episode, if you think you know what's happening and you know where it's going, you're wrong," Heller told E!.

Now that the CBI has been taken over, Lisbon and her team are working on their own. Everyone from Jane to Agents Cho (Tim Kang), Rigsby (Owain Yeoman), and Van Pelt (Amanda Righetti) appear to have an armed confrontation with the FBI's Dennis Abbott (Rockmond Dunbar), as shown by recent promo photos.
At some point, Jane will get a Red John-related call and take off with Lisbon's gun, a clip of which you can see here. Jane has repeatedly told Lisbon that he will put a permanent end to his family's killer, and Baker seemingly confirmed that notion in a recent interview with TV Guide Magazine.
"It's almost like a love scene, as perverse as that sounds," Baker told the magazine of his upcoming scene with Red John. "The end of Red John was originally planned to take place at night on the street with people watching, but I pushed to do it in the daylight in a quiet, beautiful place where they could be alone. There is no human act more intimate - not even sex - than killing another human being and watching them die."
However, "The Great Red Dragon" scriptwriter Jordan Harper cautions that "there's always another twist" when it comes to The Mentalist. There are still so many little clues that must be pieced together before viewers know the full story of Red John.

"We have the answers and it's very important to us, for those people who have been following us from the start, to reveal not in a series of cryptic moments that leave a lot of questions begged," Heller told The Hollywood Reporter. "We're going to tell the story and explain who Red John is and what happened and what is going to happen as clearly as possible because the audience deserves that."
The Mentalist airs Sundays at 10 p.m. ET on CBS.
