One hour into the 2013 American Music Awards on Sunday, Justin Timberlake surely came through for its loyalists with his performance of I Can't Drink You Away.

The American Music Awards is an awards show that takes place every year, and was actually created by the infamous Dick Clark in 1973. The respective event was started by the ABC network when its contract for the Grammy Awards expired.

The awards for the show are determined via poll of the public as well as music buyers while the Grammy Awards are given to winners off votes by members of the recording academy.

Interestingly enough, the late Michael Jackson and Donny Osmond were co-hosts for the first show along with Ricky Segall and Rodney Allen Rippy.

In terms of AMA records, Jackson has obtained the most awards at 26, which includes an "Artist of the Century" one. Group-wise, Alabama has amassed 23. For a female musician, Whitney Houston has 22.

The King of Pop also holds the record for most AMAs in a year with 8, but is tied with Houston.

Justin Timberlake's performance can be watched below in its entirely. Be sure to keep checking back with Enstars for more of the latest information on the AMAs as well as other top awards shows.
