Celebrity stylist Johnny Wujek shared a #ThrowbackThursday photo on Instagram this week showing Taylor Swift and Miley Cyrus in their teenage years.

"#tbt Grammys backstage. When they were babies.@mileycyrus@taylorswift#blackgowns," Wujek captioned the photo, which had the two singers posing together in matching black gowns at the 2009 Grammy Awards.

The image was taken before Cyrus went down the path of twerking, waving foam fingers and having shaved haircuts; also before Swift was called the "Biggest Pop Star in the World" and solidified herself as a singer who slams ex-boyfriends in her music. That same year, Kanye West famously interrupted Swift's acceptance speech at the MTV Video Music Awards.

Swift and Cyrus did an interview with Ryan Seacrest at the Grammys that year and could not stop talking about one another. Cyrus said they were each other's dates to the event and shared that they really are best friends. They also performed together at the awards ceremony that night, collaborating on Swift's song Fifteen.

The friends were even cute backstage at the awards show, filming videos for their fans to later see.

Unfortunately, the singers do not take photos together and hang out as much as they used to. The Bangerz singer also had to call out fans of Swift and Selena Gomez who bashed her in May. She then encouraged her own followers to take a classier approach.

"Everyday someone with a Swift or Gomez in [their] name wishes terrible things upon me (death is popular)," she wrote, adding, "Please Smilers don't ever think somehow you are supporting me by being hateful towards other artist. My fans make me proud by supporting my music & everything I do."

"Im sure these haters would make their idols much happier tweeting bout their music rather than wishing death upon their peers like psychos," the 21-year-old tweeted.
