The Homeland season 3 finale is going to be a big one for the show, according to the latest comments by Claire Danes.

Danes, who plays Carrie on the Showtime series, told Entertainment Tonight that Sunday's finale will be significant.

"The finale is pretty big. As you might expect. A lot happens in the finale," Danes said. "The writers continue to take really bold risks and we're always exploring new territory. We're not afraid to question who these characters are, and re-imagine them."

The latest episode of Homeland featured Brody (Damian Lewis) and Carrie going rogue in their mission in Iran. Brody went against his deal with the CIA but wound up killing Akbari anyway, while Carrie ignored Saul's (Mandy Patinkin) orders to come back to the U.S.

The final episode will heavily feature Brody, who had largely been missing from the show in season 3 until the last few episodes.

"The whole season, obviously, has been building to these two episodes," said series co-creator Alex Gansa. "I view the season in three movements. And the first and the last movement are very intimately connected. Especially when it comes to Brody . . . I just hope people enjoy watching it."
