Rockmond Dunbar is officially a father.

The 40-year-old The Mentalist actor and his wife, Maya Gilbert, welcomed a baby girl named Berkeley Seon on December 6, and weighed in at 8 lbs, 3 oz. and measured 20 ½ inches long

An ecstatic Dunbar took to Twitter after the birth to announce the news.

"Berekeley Seon Dunbar 8.3 lbs 20.5 in...Mom is doing great. We are absolutely in LOVE with our daughter!" the actor tweeted after his daughter's arrival.

Prior to the birth he also tweeted a photo of himself in scrubs and a surgeon's mask, which he captioned "It's GO TIME!"

Since the birth he has also shared several more tweets about his new baby girl.

"New Daddy facts! Changed 50 diapers. Drove 45 mph on the 405hwy without traffic. Slept 11 hrs in 3 days. Spent 56 hours just looking at baby," he tweeted on December 9.

According to The Daily Mail, the star, who has also appeared on shows like Sons of Anarchy, Prison Break and Soul Food, also returned to work at the CBS lots after his daughter's birth to find his trailer all decked out with balloons, compliments of his fellow cast members.

"I love my @Mentalist_CBS Family!" he wrote December 10.

Dunbar and Gilbert married earlier this year after dating for about a year. This is their first child together.

Dunbar's character on The Mentalist is FBI agent Dennis Abbott. His character in Sons of Anarchy was recently killed off during the show's mid-season finale. ­
